JAMMU, Feb 6: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said that the Kashmiri migrants availing relief is not included in PHH category in Jammu division as the Government provides them ration and the same is reimbursed by the Centre under Security Related Expenditure (SRE).
Replying to a question of BJP member Girdhari Lal Raina in the Upper House today, the Minister said that there are 22,573 families having 85,371 souls of Kashmiri migrants (Non-Relief) in Jammu. He said the families whose members are doing Government jobs or have pensioners are being provided food grains at a scale of 5 kg/soul per month at a subsidized price of Rs 12 per kg for wheat, Rs 13 per kg for atta and Rs 15 per kg for rice under NPHH category. Similarly, in Kashmir division, there are 36 families consisting of 127 souls residing in Budgam who are drawing their monthly ration under NPHH category, he added.
Ali further informed that there is a registered migrant camp at village Sheikhpora, Budgam in Kashmir where 23 ration cards consisting 69 souls are drawing monthly ration under PHH category.
He said the department coordinates effectively with Relief Organization to redress the grievances of Kashmiri migrants. “The grievances redressal mechanism has been put in place by the department and grievances are being disposed of through e-mode on grievance redressal mechanism portal. Till date, 133 complaints have been received, out of which 127 complaints stand resolved,” he added.
He said toll-free helpline no. 18001807011 is installed in the Directorate for registering the complaints.
He further said till date, 128 complaints have been received, out of which 127 complaints stands resolved including three complaints of Kashmiri migrants which were disposed of within 24 hours.
Legislator Surinder Mohan Ambardar also raised a supplementary question related to the main question.
