Kashmiri Muslim migrants take up issues with Veeri

JAMMU, Nov 29: All Kashmiri Migrants Committee Jammu today called on the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Abdul Rehman Veeri at his official residence here  and discussed their problems.
The delegation led by Nazir Ahmed Lone (president), projected  the problems being faced by Muslim migrants  and sought its  immediate redressal.  They pointed out that Muslim migrants are facing so many problems and living in pitiable condition at Jammu.  They claimed that they had played vital role during 1996, 2002, 2008 and 2014 elections.
They further demanded  to enhance the relief and ration at the rate of Rs  25, 000 per month keeping in view the price rise and GST. They further said that Muslim  migrants are facing a big problem regarding accommodation. In Sunjwan there are 200 family quarters of Housing Department and these quarters be allotted in favour of Muslim migrants or they should be provided 5 marlas plots for each family.
They sought disposal of pending registration forms lying since  2014 due to unknown reasons. They also demanded Govt jobs, migration certificates, medical and education facilities. They stressed upon the Government  to  provide opportunity for one time relaxation for correction of names and inclusions  of names in  ration cards.  They also sought extension of date for DBT Form  and to provide Aadhaar and PAN cards to  Muslim migrants.
The Minister gave patient hearing to the  grievances and assured the members to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Mohd Amin, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Ch Akbar, Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh, Ghulam Mohd Tantray and others accompanied   the delegation.
