Srinagar, June 10: Various delegations of Kashmiri Pandits called on NC leader and MLC Vijay Bakaya and apprised him of their demands.
Vijay Bakaya assured the delegations that National Conference was and will always be a well-wisher of the minority community and is committed to addressing their genuine demands.
A delegation of employees selected under the PM’s package for Migrants and residing at Sheikhpura Budgam demanded for up-gradation of facilities so that their living conditions could be improved. The delegation pointed out that there were some discrepancies in the allotment of residential flats to employees who were selected under the PM’s Package, especially those who have dependents and families with them. The delegation referred to the orders of the High Court through which directions have been issued for the allotment of suitable accommodation to migrant employees.
Mr. Bakaya, in the light of these basic problems of living conditions being faced by the migrant employees in Sheikhpora and other places, urged the Government to take a compassionate view in the matter and adjust every family comfortably so that their right to privacy is respected. He urged the concerned departments and officers to undertake verification on a priority basis and order adjustment as per rational and humanitarian norms.
