Kathua Campus organizes panel discussion for MBA students

KATHUA, Feb 20: The Management School of  Kathua Campus , University of Jammu, today  organized  a panel discussion on “Contemporary Issues In Human Resource Development: Extension and Outreach” for the MBA students.
Prof  Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus and Director, ICccR & HRM, JU, Prof  Poonam Dhawan, Director, Department of Life -long learning, JU,  Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman, J & K Committee, PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr  Vijay Saigal, Department of Law in JU  and Dr  Pallvi Arora, ICccR &HRM were the panelists.
Prof  Neelu Rohmetra talked about the importance of human resource development in present business scenario. She stressed that HRD is a philosophy which seeks to unleash the latent potential and competencies in individuals. Human Resource Development (HRD) deals with creating conditions that enable people to get the best out of themselves and their lives. Development is a never-ending process, and HRD plays a curative, preventive, adaptive, promotive and transformative role in the organizational life, she said and  added that purposeful extension and outreach activities enable the individuals to understand and connect to  the real life situations, thus contributing to the social frameworks.
Prof Poonam Dhawan   stressed upon the organic perspective of HRD. She stressed that learning is an integrated process, wherein extension and outreach are integral to societal development. Extension and outreach is need based and touches across community and societal behaviour, she added.
Vikrant Kuthiala  talked about HRD in the context of corporate working. He stressed that HRD is a key contributor for any organization. He elaborated upon the seven necessary things that an organization needs to consider for better HRD implementation.
Dr Vijay Saigal   spoke about the sexual harassment at workplace as one of the contemporary issues confronting organizations today. He suggested that work place includes the behavioural zones which can be green, yellow or red, each indicating which behaviour is acceptable within that particular zone.
Dr  Pallvi Arora  talked about issues in International HRM.
Dr  Jyoti Sharma  coordinated the proceedings of the panel discussion programme, in which  the Management students and the faculty participated.
