JAMMU, Jan 9: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that district Kathua has been deprived of development during PDP-BJP rule.
Addressing BCC meeting at Tandyari, in block Barnoti today, Sharma came heavily on local MLA for total neglect ion of kandi area. During the meeting a delegation of people from village Basiyan complained about non- availability of transformer and land encroachment by some people there. They further said that they approached administration regarding encroachment but didn’t get the proper response.
Dr Sharma gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that he will take their demands with District administration for proper rederessal. He further said that no new recruitment of SPOs, teachers, daily wagers has taken place in Kathua districts though DyCM and sitting MP happens to be from district Kathua.
He said many daily wagers from various departments such as PDD, PHE, Forest, Fisheries, Agriculture and others are sitting on dharnas for the past many months as they haven’t got their salaries and waiting for their regularization but the Government has turned deaf ear towards their genuine demands.
He said the Congress party is with the daily wagers agitating and once Congress comes back to power its first work will be settlement of regularization issue and disbursal of their pending wages. He also vowed to settle the issue of proper financial assistance and plots at safer places to border firing victims.
