Kathua Police arrests 3 burglars, recovers stolen jewellery

JAMMU, Sept 12:  Kathua Police worked out a theft case and recovered stolen jewellery items from the three burglars which they had stolen from the house of Balwinder Singh, Son of Darshan Singh of Mukundpur Labana, Tehsil Marheen district Kathua last month .
The accused have been identified as Kalu Bhagat Perna,  resident of Guta Rua Marheen Rajbagh, Raj Kumar, Son of Roop Lal Perna of Ladwal and Chanda Ram Son of Kartar Chand Perna of Mirpur Muthi tehsil Nagri Kathua.
Police said that complainant Balwinder Singh, son of Darshan Singh of Mukundpur Labana, teh Marheen distt Kathua lodged a written report in Police Post Marheen regarding burglary in his house. Complainant further stated that all the gold ornaments belonging to his wife have been stolen by some unknown burglars.
Police said on this report a case FIR No-206/16 u/s 457/380 RPC was registered and investigation started by Incharge Police Post Marheen. During investigation, one burglar namely Kalu was picked up for questioning. During sustained questioning the accused confessed his involvement in the burglary and also disclosed the involvement of his two more associates namely Raj Kumar and Chanda Ram. Later both accused were also arrested. On their disclosure police party recovered all the stolen ornaments worth three lakh.
The detail of recovered ornaments included Gold Bangles-two,  Kada-one,  Necklace one, ladies chain with locket two, rings ladies two, rings gents one,  ear pins one pair, ear rings one pair, artificial ear holdings one pair. The silver ornaments stolen included Jhanjhars four pairs, Kangan children one pair, locket four pairs, wrist watches two and foot rings two. The accused persons also confessed their involvement in other burglaries.
The operation was conducted on the directives of Dy SP Border Diwakar Singh by SHO Rajbagh Ajay Jamwal who was assisted by SI Braham Dev.
