Kathua Police arrests drug peddler, recovers 9 gms of heroin

KATHUA, Mar 27: In continuation to drive launched by District Police Kathua to nab the drug peddlers, today a Police party of Police Station Rajbagh during patrolling on Jasrota-Rajbagh stretch recovered nine grams of heroin and 9.9 grams of Ganja from the possession of a youth.
According to police during the patrolling it intercepted one Gurmeet Singh alias Patha S/o Jasbir Singh R/o Jasrota near Railway crossing Rajbagh, who was coming from Rajbagh towards Jasrota by foot. During his personal search 09 grams heroin and 9.9 grams ganja recovered from his possession. Accused person was arrested and a Case FIR No.45/2017 u/s 8/20/ 21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Rajbagh and investigation was set into motion.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Ravel Singh Choudhary, SDPO Border and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua. District Police Kathua is committed to provide a drug free society to the people of Kathua town and it will continue the endeavour to wipe out the menace of drug in society.
