Kathua police arrests smuggler, seizes of heroin

KATHUA, Mar 23: Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police today recovered 15 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at NHW Chann Rorian Rajbagh area.
In this connection one drug peddler was arrested and one vehicle (Alto Car) along with narcotics was seized on the spot.
Police said an information was received through reliable sources at Police Station (PS) Rajbagh that one person namely Sadiq, son of Raheem of Pansar, tehsil Marheen
was smuggling Heroin in an Alto Car bearing Registration Number, JK08K- 7702 . Acting swiftly a Police team led by Inspector, Tariq Ahmed, SHO PS Rajbagh assisted by PSI, Rohit Manhas under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during naka/ checking duty at NHW Rajbagh area intercepted the vehicle. On thorough checking 15 grams of Heroin was recovered from the person namely Sadiq, son of Raheem of Pansar Marheen. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics along with one Alto Car were seized and drug peddler was arrested on the spot. A case vide FIR No. 64/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal said that the drive to nab the drug peddlers is in full swing across the district.
