KATHUA, Jan 11: Intensifying its action against drug menace within the district, Kathua police seized 10.80 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Kukey Chak area falling under jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua and arrested one lady drug peddler on the spot.
Police said an information was received from the reliable sources at PS Kathua that one lady namely Darshana Devi, wife of Kamal Dev of Chak Drab Khan tehsil and district Kathua is indulged in illegal trade of selling narcotics like contraband substance. Acting swiftly police team led by SHO PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua during naka/ checking in its jurisdictional area at Kukey Chak noticed the lady who was directed to stop for checking purpose. During checking, 10.80 grams of heroin like narcotics was recovered from her possession.
She was identified as Darshana Devi, wife of Kamal Dev of Chack Drab Khan, tehsil and district Kathua.
Thereafter all the recovered narcotics i.e. approximately 10.80 grams of Heroin was seized and the lady was arrested by the police party on spot.
In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 11/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered at PS Kathua and further investigation was taken up.
