KATHUA, Feb 19: Around 600 liters of Lahan was destroyed and 30 liters of illicit liquor was seized in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Rajbagh and Police Post Nagri during last two days.
Police said a team of PS Rajbagh under the supervision of Inspector, Bopinder Singh conducted a Naka in the Rajbagh area and during that they apprehended a pedestrian namely Veena Devi, wife of Madan Lal of Sunjwan, tehsil Marheen carrying a plastic cane. During the search, 30 liters of illicit liquor was found inside the cane. Accordingly, a case was filed in the PS Rajbagh vide FIR No.18/2021 U/S 48(a) of Excise Act and further investigation was taken up immediately.
In another instance, a police team led by in charge Border Police Post (BPP) Hariachak, Jarnail Singh conducted a raid in the field area of Kunde Chack wherein 200-250 liters of lahan was found unattended which was destroyed on the spot.
Also, under the supervision of Inspector, Vicky Thapa, police team of PP Nagri in its jurisdictional area near Mahichack destroyed 350 liters of unattended Lahan on the spot.
