KATHUA, June 12: District police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal in its recent action against the consumption and production of illicit liquor destroyed near about 750 liters of Lahan and seized 20 liters of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh and arrested one person in this regard.
Police said today a joint team of PS Rajbagh and Police Post, Haria Chack led by Inspector, Bhopinder Singh, SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan- conducted a series of raids at Chhabe Chak, Haria Chack Plotan, Khanpur and Bandhore wherein 750 liters of Lahan along with 20litres of illicit liquor was found from the possession of lady namely Nazma, wife of late Lovely of Bandhore, tehsil Marheen, district Kathua. Meanwhile all the recovered consignment of Lahan was destroyed and 20 liters of illicit liquor was seized.
In this regard a case vide FIR No. 96/2021 u/s 48 (a)(f) Excise Act was registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation has been initiated.
