Kathua police rescues 10 bovine animals, arrests two smugglers

KATHUA, Mar 26: Kathua Police last night rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers at Khokhyal.
According to police the bovine animals were being carried in a vehicle bearing registration number JK 14 A 8082 during the night hours.
After seeing police, the smugglers tried to speed up the vehicle but the alert policemen chased them and seized the vehicle besides rescuing all the animals and arresting the two smugglers.
The smugglers were identified as Nazir, son of Irshad of Uri in Baramulla district of Kashmir Valley and Mohsin S/o Shaffi  of Batyas Doda.
The Kathua Police also has also registered a case under relevant section of law and started the further investigation in the matter.
The police party which foiled the attempt of smuggling the bovine animals was led by SHO Kathua, Sarabjit Singh under the supervision of Dy SP SS Samyal on the directives of SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar.
Police said it has tightened the noose on bovine smugglers in the district and all the police stations have been given strict instructions to remain vigilant especially during the night hours when the bovine smugglers are most active.
