Kathua police rescues 12 bovine animals, arrests smuggler

KATHUA Feb 1: Continuing its endeavor to thwart the evil designs of the bovine smugglers District Police Kathua once again succeeded in foiling  bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 bovine animals and arrested one bovine smuggler.
A spokesman of Kathua police said that it rescued 12 bovine animals and also arrested the bovine smuggler involved in bovine smuggling at Hatli.
He said during patrolling duty at National Highway near Hatli Morh today in the wee hours, a team of Police Post Hatli led by S I Verinder Singh, Incharge Police Post Hatli intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK02AE, 4245 carrying bovine animals which was on way from Punjab towards Jammu side.
During checking of the vehicle, police rescued 12 bovine animals being smuggled in the  vehicle and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Mohd Maqbool S/o Farooq Ahmed R/o Doda and also seized  the truck. Accordingly a case FIR No 40/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act was registered at PS Kathua in this regard.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of  Sanjay Parihar Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of  Mohd. Suleman Choudhary SSP Kathua.
The police team was deputed by Inspector Anil Sharma, SHO Police Station Kathua under the instructions of  Dy. SP, Headquarters Kathua S.S.Sambyal.
