Kathua police rescues 15 bovines, seizes truck

KATHUA, Jan 8: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal, today rescued 15 bovines at NHW Rajbagh area along with seized one vehicle involved in smuggling of animals.
Police said a team of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh led by Inspector, Amit Sangra SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during naka checking duty near NHW Rajbagh area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Truck) bearing Registration Number JK14B-8772 which was being driven by an unknown person who was enrouted from Punjab towards Srinagar. As he was signaled to stop for checking on seeing naka party driver of the vehicle managed to fled away from the spot.
During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found loaded in it mercilessly which were rescued. One vehicle was seized on the spot. Thereafter all the 15 bovines (11 cows and four oxen) were rescued. An instant case has been registered at PS Rajbagh vide FIR Number 03/2023 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PCA act while further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
