Kathua Police rescues 4 bovine animals

KATHUA, Apr 4: Police Party of Police Station Kathua headed by Inspector Sarabjeet Singh, SHO PS Kathua, on a specific information, laid down a naka at Maggar Khad under the supervision of S.S. Sambyal, DySP Hqrs. Kathua, and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua and intercepted one Mahindra load carrier bearing registration Number JK08E-2493 loaded with bovine animals which was on way from Punjab towards J&K via Ravi river.
After observing the Police party, driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking the advantage of darkness leaving behind the vehicle. During search of the vehicle, four bovine animals were rescued and in this regard a case FIR No. 106/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Kathua and investigation into the matter is in progress to unmask the nexus of bovine smuggling.
