Kathua police rescues 4 bovines, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, Nov 12 : In furtherance to tightening noose on bovine smuggling menace, a manhunt was launched by Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal against bovine smuggling and four bovines were rescued, besides one vehicle (Load Carrier ) was seized at Sanji Morh.
Police said today a team led by PSI, Arjun Singh in charge Police Post (PP), Marheen under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during special Naka duty in its jurisdictional area noticed one suspicious vehicle ( Load Carrier ) bearing Registration Number JK02CT-0617 which was being driven by one Sanjay Kumar, son of Shambu Nath of Alla tehsil, Arnia district Jammu who was enrouted from Haria Chak side towards Kashmir valley via Sanji Morh was signaled to stop for checking. During checking, the police team was able to rescue four bovines (02 cows and 02 calves) from the vehicle. An instant case vide FIR No. 223/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA has been registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation is going on. All the four bovines were rescued, one person was arrested and vehicle was seized
