Kathua police seizes 53.52 gms of Heroin, arrests 2 drug peddlers

KATHUA, July 24:- Intensifying its efforts against drug menace under the “Operation Sanjeevani” J&K Police recovered 53.52 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of PP Nagri Parole and arrested two drug peddlers along with recovered narcotics substance which was seized on spot.
Police said an information was received through the reliable sources at PP Nagri Parole that two persons namely, Karanveer Singh, son of Ranjodh Singh of Aima Sajda Narot, Hrithik Salaria, son of Omkar Singh also of Aima Sajda Narot were doing illegal trade of selling narcotics like contraband and kept huge quantity of narcotics substance in their possession and trying to sell the same to the people of Nagri Parole.
Acting swiftly a police team of PP Nagri Parole under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua and SHO PS Kathua laid down a special naka/ checking in its jurisdictional area and apprehend two persons namely Karanveer Singh and Hrithik Salaria. During checking 53.52 grams of Heroin (Chitta) was recovered from their possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics was seized and two drug peddlers were arrested on the spot. A case vide FIR No. 229/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Kathua while further investigation is underway.
District police Kathua appealed people of the area to come forward and share information on 100 or 9858034100 about any such illicit activity with police for the cause.
