Kathua police seizes 588 grams of gold ornaments

KATHUA, Aug 14: In view of upcoming Independence Day celebration and in order to check every vehicular movement on the overall directions of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal – Kathua police has intensified the drive.
While on vehicle checking at Lakhanpur today a police team of Police Station (PS), Lakhanpur led by Inspector, Sumeet Sharma, SHO PS Lakhanpur during naka and vehicle checking duty noticed one car bearing Registration Number, PB02DB-1282 was coming from Punjab towards Jammu.
On thorough checking of the vehicle 588.640 grams of Golden ornaments recovered without any proper bill. Two persons namely Rahul Khanna, son of Rajesh Khanna and Gautam Sekhri, son of Vinod Sekhri both residents of Gali Khai Wali, Katra Khazana Amritsar traveling in the vehicle were apprehended and handed over to DC State Taxes along with consignment. They were imposed a fine amounting to Rs 1,51108 by State Tax Department.
