KATHUA, May 8: Kathua police continuing its drive and war on drugs putting concrete efforts to eradicate the drugs menace and in consequence district Police Kathua recovered and seized approximately six grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of PS Lakhanpur and one person was arrested in this connection.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Vijay Kotwal, SHO PS Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP, DAR Kathua, Subash Chander laid down a routine naka/checking at dispatch point Lakhanpur area, during naka checking they apprehended one suspect namely Zorawar Singh @kaka son of Baldev Singh of Dhanore tehsil and district Kathua who was coming from Punjab towards Lakhanpur.
On Physical search, approximately six grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics was seized and one person was arrested on the spot. On this a case FIR No. 50/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Lakhanpur and further investigation is under process.
