KATHUA, Feb 08: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal have solved four burglaries by arresting three thieves and recovered stolen Golden ornaments approximately 16.5 Tolas as well as cash amounting to Rs. 2,00,000/- from their possession and also seized two motorcycles involved in the commission of the crime.
Police said during the month of January this year, FIR No.’s 02/2023, 04/2023, 05/2023 and 08/2023 U/S 454/380/IPC were registered at Police Station (PS) Rajbagh and investigation into the burglaries started.
A team of PS Rajbagh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan and led by SHO PS Rajbagh Inspector, Amit Sangra with the help of human and technical surveillance finally rounded up two suspects namely Parvez son of Manglo of Bani, Anvez son of Shams Din of Dodla Basohli and subsequently were arrested on January 24.
“During sustained questioning, both the accused confessed their involvement in the theft cases and on their disclosure stolen gold ornaments weighing 4.5 tolas were recovered. On further disclosure on 03/02/2023 the police team of PS Rajbagh nabbed one more hardcore burglar namely Mehboob. During sustained questioning, the accused also confessed his involvement in the theft cases and on his disclosure, stolen Gold ornaments weighing 12 tolas and cash amounting to Rs. 2,00,000/- was recovered along with two motorbikes.
It is pertinent to mention here that the above named thief Mehboob is notorious thief and involved in many theft cases in Jammu, Kathua and Samba area and number of FIR’s are lodged against him.
