KATHUA, Mar 19:- In continuation to a drive launched by District Police Kathua against thieves in this district, Kathua Police achieved success by apprehending four thieves and recovered stolen mobile phones i.e (six Apple i-Phones) approximate worth Rs. 5,00,000/- from the offenders who were involved in the offence in the limits of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh.
Police said on February 4 on the complaint of one person namely Sanjay Kanathia, son of Bachan Lal of Marheen lodged at Police Post Marheen in which he stated that during the intervening night of 03-04/02/2024 some unknown persons entered into his mobile shop (SK Mobile Shop Marheen) after breaking the lock from where some mobile phones have been stolen by some unknown persons. In this regard a case FIR No. 27/2024 U/S 457/380/34/IPC stands registered at PS Rajbagh.
During the course of investigation, the police team of PP Marheen with the help of technical assistance, successfully arrested four persons namely Teg Ali, son of Kasim Ali, Maskeen Ali, son of Jodh Raj, Sabar Hussain, son of Noor Hussain, Sameer Kumar son of Jodh Raj all were residents of Sadrota Chak tehsil Marheen district Kathua who got arrested on 19/03/2024 and during questioning and their further disclosure the police team was able to recovered stolen mobile phones (06 Apple I- Phones) i.e (I Phone 13, I Phone
14 Pro, I Phone 11, I Phone 12 Pro, I Phone XS Max, I Phone X) having a total value of Rs. 5,00,000/- approximately) from their possession which were seized on spot while the further investigation is underway.
In this way the theft case of Police Station Rajbagh was solved whereas Kathua Police has launched a manhunt for other persons involved. The recovery of the stolen mobile phones was made by IC PP Marheen, PSI Ravinder Singh under the guidance of SDPO Border, Dheeraj Singh Katoch and SHO PS Rajbagh Inspector, Rajeshwar Singh.
