KATHUA/ SAMBA, Mar 31: District police of Kathua and Samba rescued 22 bovine animals at different places in the twin districts today.
Reports said Kathua police foiled two bovine smuggling bids in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Hiranagar and Police Post, Hatli by rescuing 19 bovine animals and apprehended bovine smuggler.
Police team during checking in the wee hours at Londi Morh NHW seized one truck bearing Registration Number, JK02AR-9839 illegally carrying bovine animals and rescued 15 bovines in the process.
In another action by a team of Police Post, Hatli led by SI, Vishal incharge Police Post, Hatli rescued four bovine animals during checking duty at NHW near Grand Plaza Hotel being illegally carried in a Tata Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number, JK08F-9897. Police team seized the vehicle and arrested the bovine smuggler namely Maskeen, S/o Sain R/o Haria Chak, Marheen Kathua.
Police stations of Hiranagar and Kathua registered cases under relevant sections of law. Further investigation into the cases is going on.
Continuing its relentless efforts against the bovine smuggling, district police, Samba has arrested a bovine smuggler and rescued three bovines under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Samba today.
Police said a team of Police Post, Gouran headed by ASI, Parshotam Lal, incharge, PP Gouran during vehicle checking at naka Parona, Sumb intercepted a Mahindra Bolero pick-up bearing Registration Number PB08B4-9242 that was on way to Samba.
During checking of the vehicle, police rescued three bovines which were being transported illegally without any permission. The bovine smuggler, Mohammad Hussain, S/o Lal Hussain, R/o Manohar Gopala, Samba has been arrested and the vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 72/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
The arrest has been made under the supervision of Inspector, Shiv Dev Singh, SHO, P/S Samba & Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs. Samba and Faisel Qureshi Additional SP Samba.
