JAMMU, Dec 11: Kathua district has topped in registration of beneficiaries under prestigious Central Government scheme, ‘Ayushman Bharat’ in the State. Till date, the district has registered 84,518 beneficiaries under the Scheme.
Jammu district has registered 16,000 beneficiaries, which is at second place.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rohit Khajuria said despite facing problems in registration during winters as nomads and other population has migrated to Punjab and other parts of the country, the registration was highest in the State.
He was reacting to the reports released by an Agency, which showed Kathua district behind in registration of beneficiaries under `Ayushman Bharat’ scheme of the Central Government.
Khajuria said the nomads will be back in April but the scheme is time bound and will end in December.
However, he said, the district administration was trying to enroll as many beneficiaries in the Scheme as possible.
