Katra-Akhnoor road to promote tourism: Wazir

JAMMU, May 21: The new road connectivity between Katra and Akhnoor via Devi Mai-Bamyal will promote tourism in the area and the concerned department must improve the road condition and complete the project in time.
Addressing a religious function in connection with the starting of work of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji temple  Sukha Grand near Gharota- Aghore, in presence of religious personality Sri Sri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri ji Maharaj, Rakesh Wazir (chief guest), president Hotel and Restaurants Association Katra,  said that the work on this road project has been started  and it will promote tourism in Akhnoor and adjoining areas.
Wazir while throwing light on the life and history of Guru Ravi Dass Ji said that long struggle which was undertaken by us all with regard to this road project between Katra-Akhnoor via Devi Mai-Bamyal in Governor’s rule,  had now finally come to the conclusion with the start of its process and its all credit goes to the people who played their laudable role. It was only due to the proper projection of facts by the people of these areas and particularly by the then Advisor to Governor,  Parvez Dewan.
He said that with the completion of this road where on one hand the old traditional route of Vaishnodevi ji will get revived and on the other hand the distance between Aghoor, Akhnoor and Katra will get reduced considerably.
He further said that in coming days all the places of  Tourist interest of these areas including Mathwar, Ambaran, Jia Potta, Showa Mata etc. will come on the Tourism map and big chunk of Vaishnodevi pilgrims will be able to visit these areas and while going back to their places Jammu as well even more conveniently and as a result thereof will become a major source of employment and development of these areas.
Wazir also praised Babu Ram who gave free land  to the community for the  construction of community hall and temple and asked the people.
Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj also delivered religious sermons on the occasion and threw light on the life and mission of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj.
