Katra epitome of Hindu-Muslim unity: Lal Singh

KATRA, Apr 9: Member of Parliament Choudhary Lal Singh has said that Katra is an epitome of Hindu- Muslim unity and the holy town was sending a strong message of brotherhood across the nation.
Addressing a public meeting here at Yog Ashram, Katra, Lal Singh said that thousands of local Muslims and Hindus were working together in holy town Katra sending a strong message of communal harmony and brotherhood across the nation. “This unity makes Katra an epitome of Hindi-Muslim brotherhood”, he added.
Condemning some leaders of playing petty politics in the State, he asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir not to fall prey to the petty politics of such leaders.
Reacting to various problems faced by the people of Katra and other adjacent areas, he directed the concerned departments to resolve the problems of the people. He said that he is committed for their overall development.
The president of Poney and Pithoo Union Katra Bhopinder Singh, in his address, hailed the MP for always supporting the cause of pithoos and ponywalas.
The meeting was attended by members of Pithoos-Pony Union Katra, members of the Panchayats and general public.
Earlier, on arrival, MP was given a warm welcome by the pithhoo and ponywalas. He was received and escorted to Yog Ashram Katra where he addressed a public meeting.
