KATRA, Oct 2: The Katra Hotel and  Restaurant Association  has demanded extension  of due  date for  filing of Income Tax returns for assesses whose accounts are required to be audited, by a period of one month.
In  a  memorandum submitted to Chairperson Central Board of Direct  Taxes,  the president of Katra Hotel & Restaurant Association,  Sham Lal Kesar,  explained that  recent incidents of curfew  and bandh in Jammu, Kishtwar, Udhampur and   Rajouri districts  in Jammu region and Pulwama district in Kashmir region led  to non finalization of accounts by Auditable assesses and  subsequent filing of their Income  Tax returns by due date of  September 30.
He appealed the CBDT Chairperson to take a lenient view on the matter as far as the assesses of J&K are concerned.
