Katra hoteliers express concern over decreasing number of pilgrims

KATRA, Nov 8: A meeting of the office bearers of Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, was held here today under the chairmanship of its patron-in-chief, Parvez Dewan wherein president of the association Rakesh Wazir and chairman Shyam Lal Kesar were also present.
The meet stressed that all main agencies, including Government, Tourism Department , SMVD Shrine Board and Hotel Association need to work unitedly as team to put their all energies for increasing the facilities to the Vaishno Devi pilgrims and to adopt all measures so that the present decreasing trends of the Yatra are stopped forthwith.
It was unanimously emphasized that Tourism being the back bone of our State, may it be in any form including pilgrimage Tourism, is needed to be strengthened by formulating a comprehensive strategy.
The speakers, while speaking on the occasion, expressed serious concern over the decreasing of yatra day by day and suggested that the Shrine Board should have its main focus on the adding facilities to the pilgrims besides identifying the reasons for decrease in this Vaishno Devi Yatra.
Prominent among those, who attended the meeting, include Virender Kesar, Madan Aggarwal, Kuldeep Dubey, Karan Wazir, Ajay Kotwal, Sumit Khajuria, Nishant Sharma, Rohit Dubey, Vivek Sharma, Mohit Dubey, Sudershan Sharma, Surinder Khajura and others.
