HYDERABAD, Nov 15 : The indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection system, KAVACH, has been deployed across a distance of 1,465 Route Kms (Rkms) across South Central Railway (SCR).
This initiative is a significant step towards fulfilling the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Developed by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in collaboration with Indian industry, KAVACH has been closely implemented by SCR since its inception, an SCR release said on Friday.
Recently, the Railways approved the installation of KAVACH version 4.0 on 10,000 locomotives across Indian Railways. This upgraded version marks a major milestone in railway safety and will further enhance the security of train operations across the vast railway network.
The introduction of KAVACH version 4.0 is expected to facilitate rapid deployment across the entire network in the coming years.
As of today, KAVACH has been successfully deployed on 1,465 Route Kms and on 144 locomotives across SCR.
The latest version, KAVACH 4.0, has been successfully commissioned on 63 Route Kms in the Sanatnagar?Vikarabad section. Additionally, KAVACH version 3.2 has been commissioned across several other sections, the release added. (UNI)
