Kavi Sammellan held in memory of Late Mansa Ram

JAMMU, Dec 3: In the memory of Late Mansa Ram Sharma ‘Chanchal’ a great Hindi writer of J&K and son of the soil, a kavi sammellan was organized here today.
The sammellan was organised by Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Dham Mandir Management Committee Gurah Mundian in collaboration with Sabras Sahitya Sangam Kathua (registered).
This was the 8th Dogri kavi- sammellan in memory of Mansa Ram Sharma and was organized in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Sub Office Kathua.
The function was presided over by Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal of Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Govt Degree College (GDC) Hiranagar.
Professor Daya Vilas, retired Principal of Degree College and Ram Pal Sharma, President Brahman Sabha Hiranagar were Guest of Honours on the occasion whereas Narotam Sharma, a retired IRS officer was special invitee.
Many educated and elite persons of the surrounding villages were also present during the kavi-sammellan.
At the start, rich tribute were paid to Late Mansa Ram Sharma ‘Chanchal’ a great literary personality and son of village Gurah Mundian by garlanding his photo.
Students of Ambica Public School Gurah Mundian in their colorful dress performed Saraswati-Vandana and sung beautiful bhajan in praise of Bhagwan Rama.
In the kavi-sammellan, renowned dogri poets namely Bishan Singh ‘Dardi’, C S Kaatal, Sat Pal Garwalia, Madan Lal Toofan, Thakur Khajoor Singh, R.S Kaatal, Naresh Kumar, Hasya-kavi Vijay Kumar Sharma, Tilak Raj Sumbria, Mangal Dass Dogra, K.P. Kippy, Saroj Bala, Dr. Guru and Sham Lal Khajuria recited their Dogri poems.
