JAMMU, Dec 31: Describing the current political climate in Jammu and Kashmir “very conducive” for BJP to come to power, former Deputy Chief Minister & senior party leader, Kavinder Gupta urged cadres to make special efforts to woo people from all sections of the society, to ensure party’s victory in the coming Assembly and Parliamentary elections.
Addressing BJP’s Satwari Mandal meeting at Gandhi Nagar, which was attended by MLC, Ashok Khajuria, Prabhari Gandhi Nagar, Jugal Dogra, Seh- Prabhari, Veenu Khanna, district president, Baldev Bilowria, Hardev Singh, Bharat Bhushan and Mandal president, Harbans Choudhary.
Gupta said the results in favour of recently held ULB & Panchayat elections, had received a “positive” response from the people, and every worker should reach out to the public with the achievements of Modi led Government at Centre with reference to the projects sanctioned/implemented in the State. He also wanted the cadres to make maximum use of the situation and reach out to all sections in the State, with the developmental works done in the State in general and Gandhi Nagar Constituency in particular.
Gupta said, a number of schemes for strengthening the poor, Dalits, farmers and backward castes have been implemented.” He said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the party of all sections of society. He appealed to the gathering to strengthen the BJP at grass root level and ensure victory for the party candidates in the forthcoming Assembly and Parliamentary elections.
“Now we have to generate confidence among the people that the party will come to power,” he said, while calling for an action plan at the Ward level to galvanise the party. “The immediate task before the party is to ready the organisational machinery to face the polls,” he said.
Hitting out at Congress, NC and PDP whose successive governments had ruled alternately or jointly before 2014 had ruined the State, this can be witnessed from the period we were in Government as partner and had received many packages for the State along with the Mega projects. Gupta further added that “what J&K has achieved in the past four years was never seen in the earlier two decades”. He said the party cadre had to focus on the increase of vote share in forthcoming Assembly as well as Parliamentary elections as we have received a shot in the arm in the recently held civic polls as it increased its vote base and made inroads in several areas of Kashmir as well.
Jugal Dogra stressed n making of teams at booth level and urged party activists to work very hard for the accomplishment of the goal.
