Kavinder asks people to cooperate with Govt in removing illegal constructions

JAMMU, July 28: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta said that it is the duty of the  Government to provide access to water, electricity, affordable homes, education, road connectivity, drainage system and health services.
Kavinder Gupta, while addressing public meetings during his tour to Jallalabad, Sunjwan in Gandhi Nagar Constituency and its adjoining areas to launch various development works also highlighted the various welfare schemes of Narendra Modi Government . He kick-started the construction and up-gradation of two lanes being executed at the cost of  Rs9.50 lac.
He said that number of road macadamization and up-gradation works have been taken up with special thrust on the use of quality material. Highlighting the achievements of present dispensation in PWD, PHE and other sectors,  Kavinder Gupta apprised that 570 KM road length has been upgraded, more than 350 transformers and 11000 new electric poles have been installed in Gandhi Nagar Constituency in the past three years besides more projects are in pipeline.
Gupta said that since the Jammu city has been included in Smart City by the Government of India has released Rs. 40 crore to get started with the work. He emphasised on the role the inhabitants of the area to cooperate with the departments regarding removal of illegal and unauthorised constructions. He further said that before starting of any new construction people must get the authorisation from the concerned departments as per the Jammu master plan so that the Government agencies can provide all the basic amenities in proper and cost effective way.
The people informed former Deputy Chief Minister about their grievances and problems pertaining to up-gradation of power infrastructure, sanitation and extension of existing nallah in the area. Responding to the demands put forth by the locals regarding various development issues in the area, the former Deputy Chief Minister assured that all their genuine demands would be looked into on priority and assured that the genuine demand will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for early approvals and execution of the works.
