JAMMU, Jan 6: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta paid a surprise visit to the office of SDM South and Tehsildar South.
He interacted with the people and enquired about the difficulties, if any, being faced by them in these offices.
The people gave him several suggestions for improving the public-administration interface and facilitate smooth functioning of these revenue offices.
The Speaker also asked the SDM and Tehsildar to ensure presence of a senior officer in the office so that people do not face unnecessary delays in getting their issues addressed.
Later, the Speaker also inaugurated deep drain construction works at Gadi Garh, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that this project fulfills a long standing demand of the people for augmentation of the deep drain network to improve sanitation in the area.
He also inspected the quality and progress on blacktopping work on Roi Morh upto Banyan International School, being executed by PWD (R&B) department.
