JAMMU, Apr 4: A certificate distribution ceremony for PMKVY RPL Yoga instructor programme was held today here at NITS Polytechnic, Miran Sahib, wherein more than 100 candidates belonging to various walks of life were given certificates by chief guest, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, Legislative Assembly.
Savinder Gupta, Coordinator, SSRDP J&K and Art of Living (AoL) State Teachers Coordinator, while presenting welcome address, said Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
“Individuals with prior learning experience or skills are assessed and certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) component of the Scheme. RPL Yoga is a platform to provide recognition to the informal learning or learning through practice of Yoga to get equal acceptance as the formal levels of Yoga education. It provides an opportunity to receive certification from NSDC, MSDE”, he added.
He further informed that SSRDP under the aegis of Art of Living is an authorized training partner of PMKVY. He said that SSRDP is also conducting short term training programs for fresh youth in Domestic Data Entry operator and Assistant Electrician Job role under PMKVY in Jammu.
Kavinder Gupta, while addressing the participants, said praised the efforts of the J&K SSRDP coordinator/Chairman NITS Polytechnic and his team for arranging such a wonderful program for the people of J&K.
He further emphasized that these Government certified yoga instructors will spread a wave of well being through yoga which will greatly benefit the State. He further expressed his keen desire that AoL SSRDP should take more such initiatives and assured the organizers his full support and cooperation in all such endeavours.
The function ended with vote of thanks delivered jointly by Tejasvi, AoL Faculty and Anirudh Gupta, organizer of the event.
