Kavinder holds public meetings, inaugurates development works

JAMMU, July 8: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta held a day long tour of his Assembly Constituency and addressed series of public meetings at various places.
He was accompanied by Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Sadiq Wani, Executive Engineer PHE, J.P Singh, Executive Engineer, PDD, P.D Singh Jamwal besides officers of JMC, Revenue, Rural Development Department and political activists.
While attending meetings at Sector-1 Channi Himmat, Green Belt Park, Shiv Temple Railway Market and Sector-5 Doodhdari Chowk Nanak Nagar, he listened to the grievances of the general public.
He directed the officers to work in an aggressive manner and put in their sincere efforts to ensure comprehensive development of the Constituency and take up the issues put forth by people on priority.
“I inherited a Constituency where department was in a State of dismay”, he said. In the last three years the people have witnessed a new era of development and he assured to continue the same in the time to come..
He informed that additional amount of Rs. 5 cr has been sanctioned by the PWD(R&B) for blacktopping of roads and an amount of Rs. one cr. has been provided by him through his CDF for carrying out the left over works by the month of October.
The former DyCM stated that the work for up gradation of lanes and drains, installation of new transformers is on the progressive mode and the agencies responsible for the implementation of the same have been directed to expedite the works.
Earlier, he also inaugurated the work for blacktopping of road at Doodhadhari Temple Chowk, executed by the Department of Public Works at an estimated cost of Rs. 45 lakh.
