JAMMU, July 2: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today visited Shastri Nagar, Rampura, Nai Basti and Sanjay Nagar and interacted with people at these places.
He was accompanied by MLC Vikram Randhawa, Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Mohd. Sadiq Wani, Executive Engineer, JMC Arun Gupta, AEE PWD(R&B), Sandeep Gupta & Rajesh Augustm, JMC besides other field staff of these departments..
The former DyCM inaugurated the macadamization work for the main road of Shastri Nagar, Ward No. 22 in which the internal roads of the area will also be taken up.
The work will be executed by the PWD(R&B) at an estimated cost of Rs. 70 lakh.
Soon after inaugurating the macadamization work, he apprised that the Gandhi Nagar has witnessed unprecedented development in the last three years and informed that more than 400 kms of road length has been blacktopped by the PWD(R&B) since March 2015.
The locals demanded the up gradation of the existing transformer along with the shifting of their power supply from Ashok Nagar feeder to some other feeder which causes power breakdown at some places of the area.
Replying to their demands, he informed that several transformers have been installed in these areas through his CDF and the rest of the transformers will also be upgraded as per the load requirement.
He also inspected the work for construction of lanes and drains which are being executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) of Ward No 22, 23 and 45 and also took stock of the de-silting work done by the JMC.
Stressing for promoting new projects in Gandhi Nagar, he assured his commitment to develop each and every corner of his Legislative Constituency.
Vikram Randhawa appreciated the work of the local legislator and said that through his honest efforts the constituency has seen holistic development which was pending since a decade.
While highlighting the three years performance of BJP in coalition he informed that several projects such as installation of new tube wells, blacktopping of road and installation of transformers, and new grid stations, rural connectivity, up gradation of Gandhi Nagar and Gangyal hospitals along with infrastructure development of schools have been taken up by the local legislator.
