JAMMU, May 19: Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA from Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta inspected Rajiv Gandhi Leprosy Hospital, Gangyal.
The Speaker took stock of the working of the hospital and comprehensively reviewed status of various departments in the hospital. He was accompanied by Medical Superintendent Dr Anjum Mirza of Leprosy Hospital.
After going through every detail of the hospital, Speaker came to know that this hospital lack few things for its proper functioning like Air conditioners in the laboratory and drug store, specialist for ultrasound and eye department and security person.
Speaker assured the Medical Superintendent of the hospital that he will talk with the concerned Minister for providing the required staff to the hospital and regarding other things needed, a strategy will be chalked out during the board meeting of the hospital, scheduled on 22nd of this month.
Taking a serious note of the security in the hospital premises, he immediately directed the Superintendent to provide fund from the hospital budget for recruiting security persons to avoid any untoward incident as lady staff also have to work during late hours.
Gupta also inspected the construction of new building on which work is on halt besides being sanctioning of large amount for its construction thus causing loss to the exchequer.
He immediately directed the concerned agencies to start the work at the earliest and finish the same in time so that the people of Gangyal and its adjoining areas don’t have to travel long distances for medical treatment and they can get medical facility at their doorstep.
Speaker exhorted upon the staff of the hospital to work with utmost zeal and dedication so that common man don’t have to suffer while coming to hospital and also make proper arrangements for the patients and their attendants.
