JAMMU, May 29: Former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP senior leader, Kavinder Gupta along with former MLC, Ch Vikram Randhawa and District president, Vinay Gupta today toured many areas of the Gandhi Nagar constituency to take stock of problems being faced by the people amid COVID-19 lockdown and started lane and drain works at Ward number 6 of panchayat Narwal Bala.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that the Union Government was committed to provide all basic amenities like adequate drinking water, power, education, healthcare facilities and other civic facilities to the people. “For the last six years, the Gandhi Nagar constituency has witnessed the development at ground level,” he said.
During the tour, the residents of the area have projected a charter of demands which included construction and up-gradation of lanes and drains. Gupta gave them patient hearing and assured them that all the approved projects would be started soon.
He said the construction work on various ongoing developmental projects is apace in the area but the need of the hour is to utilize 100 percent funds earmarked for the current fiscal. He asked the people to cooperate with the Government in implementation of developmental schemes and avail maximum benefits of schemes.
He also appealed the public to follow the guidelines issued by the Government for controlling the further spread of corona virus among the public.
While interacting with the public Former MLC said that the several projects were underway to provide all basic amenities. He exhorted upon the departments concerned for proper utilization of the resources and strict adherence to quality norms. He stressed for strict vigil by the inhabitants to cross check the quality of the material being used during the execution of the developmental works in their area.
