Kavinder launches blacktopping work at Karan Bagh

JAMMU, Oct 8: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today launched blacktopping work on Karan Bagh –  Mira Sahib road and internal links.
The work  is being executed by PWD(R&B) at an estimated cost of Rs 2.68 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gupta said that this stretch of road caters to a large population and is an essential link to the border areas. He said that Government is laying thrust on promotion of border tourism activities and upgrading roads is vital in this regard.
“Upgradation of road infrastructure is one of the top-most priorities of the Government and it has taken up up-gradation and blacktopping of all important roads”, he said adding that this road will benefit the people of R S Pura, adjoining areas and especially tourists coming to visit Suchetgarh border.
The Speaker said that State has mooted a comprehensive developmental plan which aims at improving and augmenting vital infrastructure across the state to provide  better amenities to the people. He said that all the concerned departments have been directed to work in tandem and ensure projects are completed in set timelines.
He directed the executing agency to focus on maintaining quality of works. He urged the locals for their active participation and asked them to closely monitor the pace and standards of work.
Executive Engineer PWD, Rajan Mengi, Assistant Executive Engineer and senior officers of various departments were also present on the occasion.
