Kavinder lays foundation stone of Toilet Complex in Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Nov 6: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today laid foundation stone of Sulabh toilet complex in Gandhi Nagar.
Baldev Bilowria and councillor from Ward 20, Rahul Kumar were also present on the occasion. The public toilet would be constructed at a cost of Rs10.87 lakh which was long pending demand of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that the complex has been constructed as part of the national Swachh Bharat Mission launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He said the Government wants to discourage open defecation and arrangements are being made to promote hygienic toilets in the area.
“Prime Minister,Narendra Modi has launched Swachh Bharat Mission and more and more number of people are joining the mission to clean surroundings all across the nation,” he added.
He further said that the nation needs more facilities of public utility to make ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ a grand success. He said in the absence of toiletries, the public is forced to urinate in the open which further causes unhygienic surrounding. He said that every crowded market needs a public utility centre so that proper sanitation and hygiene is maintained.
Gupta directed the JMC officials to complete the work within stipulated time so that the utility centre is dedicated to the public for use. Rahul Kumar and shopkeepers complimented the Kavinder Gupta for ensuring a ‘Sulabh Complex’ in their market as it was the necessity. A.K. Singh from Sulabh International Social Service Organisation conducted the proceedings. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vinay Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Satbir Singh and Rajesh Khullar.
Later Gupta attended the Diwali Milan at Ward 68 organised by Ward Councillor, Anil Kumar. While addressing the gathering Gupta said that the initiative taken by the Anil Kumar in his Ward is really appreciable. These types of initiatives should be taken by other councillors as well and they should felicitate the employees who deliver their duties without self interest.
Gupta extended warm wishes on the occasion of Diwali. He requested the gathering present there to spread the message of general cleanliness of their surrounding and cooperate with the employees of the JMC. He also asked the people to follow simple living life style of to achieve the goals in their life. Gupta further called upon people to take optimum benefit of State and Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented for the benefit of the people in the State. He said that the aim of the Government is to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps and emphasis is being laid on providing better road connectivity, power supply, said drinking water and improved sanitation facilities.
