JAMMU, Aug 29: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta met Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis and Speaker, Haribhau Bagade of Maharashtra Government at their respective residences today.
The Speaker discussed several issues related to the development of J&K and the latest mechanism adopted by the Maharashtra Government for the modernization of various departments of the State.
Gupta briefed the Chief Minister regarding the present situation of the Kashmir valley and extended invitation to visit the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He also urged him to promote and extend his support for motivating the tourists to visit J&K through promotional events.
“The militancy has seen a massive decline after the installation of BJP-PDP Government and that was made possible with locals supporting the agenda of alliance and the positive role of security agencies”, Gupta said.
He said that the state has suffered both economically and emotionally due to some serious mishandling of issues since late 80’s and now the time has changed and the people have understood that violence in no way can be the answer to any problem.
The Speaker told him that barring few incidents of violence and that too in far flung areas, the state of J&K is moving steadfast in the direction of development and has lot of potential in the tourism and industrial sectors.
While his meeting with the Speaker Maharashtra  Legislative  Assembly, Haribhau Bagade, he discussed the functioning of the Legislative Assembly and apprised him regarding the formation of committees and their role in bringing transparency in the system.
He also discussed the process adopted by the J&K Assembly in making it paperless in the next few years and the training programs held from time to time for the staff of the State legislature.
