JAMMU, Mar 5: Former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Senior Leader, Kavinder Gupta toured Gandhi Nagar Constituency and started various developmental works at Ward 56 Sector 2 Gangyal and Ward 43 Nanak Nagar in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, here today.
Kavinder kick-started much awaited lane and drains work at sector 8 Nanak Nagar in Ward 43 to be executed by JMC worth Rs 10.5 lakh.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Surjeet Singh Choudhary, Vinay Gupta and Rohin Chandran.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that Union Government is committed to provide all basic amenities like adequate drinking water, power, education, healthcare facilities and other civic facilities to the people of all the three regions of the State especially the areas where there is lack of basic amenities to the public.
In ward 56 works on water supply scheme (WSS) was started along with the councillor Baldev Billawaria.
The work on laying of 400 metre pipe will be executed by Department of PHE and will provide the water supply to nearly 100 souls of the locality. The work cost of the project is Rs 5 lakh.
Gupta said Rs 3.5 worth works have been sanctioned for the Gangyal area and soon the works will be started.
Referring to the developmental works under execution in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Gupta said that the construction of various developmental projects are going on and on completion of these schemes it will change the socio-economic conditions of the people of the area.
Interacting with the people, Kavinder Gupta said that development programmes have been launched in the constituency with the aim to provide better amenities to the people.
Baldev Billawria in his address appreciated the efforts of Kavinder Gupta and said that he is just a call away and easily assessable to the public. He thanked Gupta for fulfilling the demands of the public.
