JAMMU, Sept 23: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today toured Ward 52 in Gandhi Nagar constituency and held several public meetings there. Gupta, after hearing to various issues raised by locals of Ward 52, Trikuta Nagar Extension and adjoining areas, assured the public that all the demands be taken up with the concerned officers for immediate redressal.
Accompanied by the Baldev Billawaria, chairman Health & Sanitation Committee, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Vinay Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Kulbier Charak, Vivek Patyal, Ajay Gupta, Councillor and other prominent leaders of BJP, he inspected the various ongoing development works. During the visit, Gupta took on spot assessment of various developmental initiatives undertaken by Revenue and Rural Development Department (RDD), including issuance of income certificates, job cards under MGNREGA, development works under CD Panchayat, MGNREGA, CDF, 14th FC and other schemes of the Government.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta said the Union Government along with Governor’s administration is committed for the holistic development of the State and positive initiatives have been taken in this regard. He said every possible step is being taken to reshape the State and make it a model self dependent State in the country.
Gupta said that motto of the Government is to provide corruption free and transparent governance by bringing economic stability in the newly created Union Territories. Lauding the working of PWD (R&B), RDD, PHE, PDD, JMC and other departments, he said the departments have put in their sincere efforts to reach out to the people at their door steps.
Gupta informed that more than 750 kms of road length in Gandhi Nagar constituency have been blacktopped and tiles laying work and improving the drainage system have been expedited by the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
He said that several developmental projects including multi-storey parking, extension of deep drains, construction of parks, and plantation of trees amounting to several crores have been sanctioned for the Gandhi Nagar Constituency. Gupta asked the BJP leaders and workers present on occasion, to reach out to the masses and aware them regarding the benefits of the welfare schemes like Ladli Beti, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padao and others.
