Kavinder takes stock of public issues

JAMMU, Oct 17: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today said that several steps have been taken for the holistic development of Gandhi Nagar constituency and ensure better amenities to the people .
The Speaker said this during his tour to Bathindi and Bermini to take stock of the developmental scenario and public issues.
He listened to the grievances of the people related to water supply, power supply, road connectivity, healthcare, sanitation and education. The Speaker assured them that their genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner.
While addressing the gathering, the Speaker said good governance with pragmatic approach to ensure that people get the better amenities and services at their doorsteps is Government’s priority.
He informed that two new water supply schemes will be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 18 crore to augment water supply. He called upon the people to realise their responsibility towards the public assets and take proper care of the public utilities which are being created by the government for their welfare.
The Speaker assured the locals that works related to construction of Bhatindi-Bermini road, bus stand, playground along with the upgradation of schools in the area will be included in the development plan.
