Kazmi urges Govt to accept demands of CCI

JAMMU, Sept 23: Apni Trade Union (ATU) today urged the Govt to accept demands of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) and put a bar on companies which try to overtake business in J&K.
A joining programme was organised by ATU provincial president, Raj Kumar Sharma under the leadership of ATU president, Ajaz Kazmi here today wherein Puran Chand, Manohar Lal, Nazir Ahmed, Rakesh Kumar, Sunny Kumar, Arif Mohammed, Showkat Ali, Neeraj Kumar, Bano, Neeraj Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Mohan Lal, Subash Chander, Prem Chand and others joined Apni Party.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party, Kazmi said that the Govt should not allow opening of Reliance stores in Jammu as they will snatch the business of wholesalers and retailers.
“J&K is dependent on the Govt services, tourism and small businesses. The people here are not rich enough to compete businessmen of Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab etc,” he said.
He claimed that opening of Reliance stores has posed a serious threat to the local businessmen which triggered their agitation.
Kazmi said when Ladakh can have protection, Jammu and Kashmir should also be equally treated and provided jobs and land protection under the constitution so that outsiders are barred from buying property and taking over business here.
Ex-MLA Faqir Nath; provincial secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta; SC state coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat and others also spoke on the occasion.
