KC Public, Army conduct awareness programme for rural teachers

JAMMU, Feb 19: 13 Rashtriya Rifles unit, Kalakote under Tain Sector organised a visit of teachers from rural areas to KC Public School, Jammu, today.
A total of 35 teachers from 13 government and private schools from remote areas of Kalakote Tehsil, District Rajouri were part of this delegation.
These teachers were selected on the basis of their experience and dedication to professional excellence.
KC Public School was chosen as it is one of the most modern and premier institutes of learning in Jammu as also the willingness of the School management to be a part of this noble initiative.
Teachers were introduced to latest and modern infrastructure available at the School like a well-stocked library, vast computer labs, smart classes with state-of-the-art multimedia aids for teaching, activity rooms, auditorium, science and language labs, reception centre, students’ hostel, indoor and outdoor sports facilities etc.
A workshop was also conducted on modern methods of instruction, learning, motivation and school management including use of play-way methods, props and other innovative techniques by Creative Head Sonia Thakur and Smita Swain.
The workshop gave exposure to the teachers and opened their thought processes to innovative methods to improve teaching standards in spite of the limitations faced in rural schools. The teachers during interaction with the Principal of the School, Dr Ram Thakur, were inspired to understand the importance of their roles in shaping the society.
The tour was successful in inspiring dedication, devotion and confidence in the teachers.
Army expressed hope that more such creative and fruitful engagements will be carried out with the help and cooperation of KC Public School in future.
