SRINAGAR, Oct 29: The KCS (Judicial) examination aspirants from Kashmir valley have sought deferment of these exams owing to the turmoil of past four months in Valley.
With examinations of KCS judicial scheduled on November 10, 2016, the aspirants from Valley are worried as they have not been able to prepare themselves for the examination due to constant and continued shutdown in the Valley.
The aspirants said that the lockdown in Valley has limited their access to the books as not only book shops are closed but also public and institutional libraries are shut. “Making the matter even worse is the suspension of internet service as we have not been able to benefit from online resource as well,” the aspirants said.
Beside all this, the aspirants will feel completely at a disadvantage to reach safely to the examination centre during the current situation. “The Secretary Public Service Commission authorities made us wait for four hours and ultimately send us back brazenly telling that the examinations cannot be deferred for the region where people are advocating for stone pelters,” the aspirants alleged. Interestingly, the PSC Secretary did not cite any reason for uttering the same, they said.
In such a situation, the aspirants feel pushed to the wall and are trying to get the examination deferred even though they did not know how to go about it. They have appealed Chief Minister and Law Minister to take the view of their concern and initiate measures that would at least ensure Kashmiri aspirants also get a level playing field.
