KDA announces launch of ‘Carvan for Restoration of Democracy’ from Sept 27

KARGIL, Sept 3: The Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) today announced the launch of “Carvan for the Restoration of Democracy from September 27, 2024”.
This significant movement will commence from Kargil to Delhi on September 27 and will culminate in joining the Apex Body Leh’s Pad Yatra in Delhi on October 1, 2024.
This was informed by KDA leaders, while talking to media persons, here today.
“Both the Apex Body Leh and the Kargil Democratic Alliance are united in their demands, which include full-fledged Statehood for Ladakh, constitutional safeguards under the 6th Schedule to preserve the unique cultural and demographic identity of Ladakh, etc”, they said.
They also reiterated the demand for early recruitment process & establishment of PSC for Ladakh besides separate Lok Sabha seats for Leh and Kargil regions.
“We urge the Government to expedite the recruitment process and establish a Public Service Commission (PSC) for Ladakh to ensure local youth have access to employment opportunities,” they also sought to justify the demand of separate Lok Sabha Seats for Leh and Kargil regions due to unique needs and aspirations of each area.
“The KDA and Apex Body Leh are committed to pursuing these demands through peaceful and democratic means, seeking justice and the rightful recognition for the people of Ladakh,” they said, adding that the upcoming Carvan and Pad Yatra represent a unified call for these essential reforms.
