JAMMU, Dec 14: Kashmiri Displaced United Council (KDUC) Jagti in a meeting  today held under the leadership of its chairman Ashok Koul expressed grave concern over the failure of the authorities in payment of relief for the month of November this year.
The meeting, which was also addressed by the convener of the organization Vinod Ticku said that non payment of relief has added to the miseries of relief holders to a great extent who are already on protest demanding enhancement of cash relief for several months now.
He said instead of enhancing the relief the Government has stopped the payment of last month’s cash assistance putting the relief holders to more problems.
The meeting also expressed concern over 18 hour power curtailment in the Jagti township and the drinking water scarcity being faced by the inmates there.
The meeting urged the Government to take immediate steps in solving the problems so that the camp inmates will not be forced to come to streets.
