Keep check on spread of Corona in Ramban: Ex-MLA

JAMMU, June 2: Former MLA Ramban and senior Congress leader Ashok Kumar has strongly urged upon the Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu to keep check on the spread of COVID-19 from urban to rural areas of Ramban district, where situation has turned alarming.
In a press statement here today, Ex-MLA said containing spread of COVID-19 is key to winning battle against Coronavirus. He appealed the Lt. Governor to direct the concerned authorities to enhance and amplify the results of Rapid Swab (PCR) in Ramban district and also, there should be no delay in the results of COVID-19 for the people in quarantine centres which are falling in hilly and rural district of Ramban seeing that the people in quarantine centres have become more vulnerable to the COVID-19 infection.
Congress leader further said there should also be a rapid random testing in containment zones in Ramban district which detects the virus in 1 or 2 hours. He said quarantine centres should be made functional as per the guidelines issued by the Health Ministry, Government of India. Peole at quanratine centers should be made to follow social distancing and self isolation, he added.
Ashok said that there are lot of complains about the inadequate supply of clean and drinking water and stressed upon the Jalsakti department for ensuring smooth functioning of water supply in this crucial times of COVID-19. He said as per the guidelines of the Centre people in quarantine centres must get packed balanced food and drinking water which are very basic necessities for the people in quarantine centres but here in Ramban there are many complaints about the inadequate and insufficient supplies of the drinking water and food items.
Ex-MLA stressed upon the Government to conduct random and rapid swab (PCR) testing which detects results in 1 or 2 hours in containment zones in order to reduce frustration and fear among the quarantined people and the society.
