Keep Chichi Mata Shrine surroundings clean

This is to draw attention of the concerned authorities towards the garbage dumps that have erupted near the Shrine of Chichi Mata. These dumps have not only disfigured the beauty of the area, but also become a source of health hazard for people.
Pilgrims visiting the shrine feel quite disgusted with the unhygienic conditions near the shrine. When contacted Executive Officer MC Samba Ajay Sangra said that the shrine does not come under the Municipal Corporation. He also said due to lack of workers it is becoming quite difficult to keep the town clean. However, he assured that before Navratras two mobile toilet vans will be stationed near the shrine for the convenience of pilgrims.

Insanitary conditions in Nanak Nagar
This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities towards insanitary conditions at Nanak Nagar Jammu. The area is dotted with garbage dumps here and there, causing great inconvenience to residents of the area. One can see stray cattle and dogs foraging for food at these places. They in turn create more trouble by littering this refuse. These dumps have become potential source of diseases in the area.
The colony is facing acute power shortage these days. The residents are subjected to numerous power cuts-both scheduled and unscheduled. The old street lights are non functional and their replacement by new LEDs is much slow. It is requested to be authorities to look into the matter at the earliest.

Plea to the PHE Department
There is a scarcity of drinking water for the last two years in and around Bhour Camp. Tube well already installed in 1979 became defunct in 2015 and new tube well installed in 2018 for the purpose is not lifting water properly due to technical fault and small size of bored pipes. Corporator Ward No 73, Local MLA, MLC and concern department was apprised about the problem but no kind of action was taken in this regard for the resolution. It is requested to the PHE Department J&K to pass the suitable directions to the concerned to resolve the issue of drinking water crises immediately before the condition worsens.

Construct overhead bridges at Samba
These days National Highway Jammu-Delhi has become accident prone, particularly at Bus Stand Samba and Vijaypur Chowk. A number of fatal accidents have occured here for the last some years. The road coming from Cantonment is sloppy and being of less gradient is proving very dangerous. The vehicles coming from Pathankote side generally lose their control here, resulting in accidents.
The Vijay Chowk where almost seven roads meet is also witnessing numerous accidents. The Chowk has become congested due to presence of reharis and light vehicles. The congestion here has become a cause of worry and inconvenience particularly to children and old-age people.
To overcome this problem, it is requested that two overhead bridges/flyovers be constructed at these places. This is need of the hour and needs to be considered by the concerned authorities. Hope the authorities won’t disappoint the people of these two places.

Provide connectivity to
“Budi-Shudi” Tiratha
Unbelievable it seems but it is a fact that the oldest Tirath of Duggar Pradesh called ‘Budi-Shudi’ situated in Sudhmahadev lacks connectivity till today. This spiritual place should have been provided road connectivity much earlier for promotion of pilgrimage but till now even bridle path has not been constructed and due to lack of link way it is difficult and dangerous to reach this place.
Surrounded by lush green forests in the foot hills of Dhar Shivgarh, Budi-Shudi was one of the most revered seat of worship and spiritual attainment held by Rishi Ved Vyas Ji in the ancient times.
It is believed that Rishi Ved Vyas worshiped at this place for thousands of years and delivered sermons from this place. Holy books of Mahabharata and Puran etc. were also written by this great Guru at this place as per local sources. Holy Rivulet Mahasur originates at this place and meets Holy Devika shortly during its downward flow towards Sudhmahadev.
On the day of Guru Purnima a mela is held at this place to pay respects to Guru Ved Vyas for his association with this place. During the rule of Raja Chenani, this place was visited by thousands of devotees and all facilities were extended by the Royal House of Chenani. The bridle path constructed by Raja Ram Chand is being used by the visitors till date in broken and uprooted condition. No Govt. agency has undertaken renovation work of old bridle path which is unsafe for use. Present Govt has done lot of developmental works in this area, but due to administrative neglect this most important Tirath of Duggar land is deprived of road connectivity. Distt. Administration Udhampur is requested to take urgent steps and depute some senior officer to see the miserable condition of uprooted bridle path of this place and sanction grants for construction of road connectivity to this place in the public interest.
